Rihanna’s lingerie brand Savage x Fenty has been making waves in the lingerie industry because of its size inclusivity and mid to low price point, making it more accessible to people wanting affordable and cute lingerie. The brand also stages a yearly event that’s a mix between a fashion show, performance art, and live concert where some of the biggest celebrities, including Rihanna herself, and models wear the newest designs. The styles range from cotton basics, to sexy as hell lingerie in vibrant colors and unique laces.
I’ve been buying from the brand for over a year now and my most recent purchases last month were from the Savage Not Sorry lace collection that stole my heart right away with the first images released. The teardrop lace and delicate unlined styles really appealed to my tastes when it comes to sexier lingerie. I bought the Savage Not Sorry Ultra Demi Unlined Lace Bra in Black ($59.95) and Savage Not Sorry Half Cup Bra with Lace in Underworld Green ($6495), both in size 34B. For the underwear, I got the matching Savage Not Sorry High Leg Lace Brazilian in Black ($24.95) and Savage Not Sorry Microfiber String Thong in Underworld Green ($22.95).
APPEARANCE AND FEEL

When I saw the Savage Not Sorry lace in person for the first time, I knew it was my favorite black lace yet. I’m very picky with the lace used in lingerie that’s lower priced or not considered luxury, because it can sometimes lack imagination or creativity. But right away, the floral tear-drop lace pattern reminded me of Paisley and Art Deco motifs, lending the design a luxury feeling already. The rose gold hardware adds a hint of shine to the bra and makes it a more luxurious experience to wear. There are a few threads sticking out from the seams which hints to the fast fashion production of the garments. The lace is very delicate and I’ve taken to washing it in a separate intimates bag. The bottoms were in the same lace as the bra and are super high cut on the thigh but not high waisted, which I actually liked because it accentuated my curves really well with the lace having a scallop edge.
Green is my favorite color, so when I saw that Rihanna released a forest green/teal color called Underworld Green I knew it was meant to be. Seeing it in person, the color is less vibrant on the silky part of the cup and the lace is almost more teal than true green. I love the look of the half cup style, it feels more luxurious having two textures and the lace sit next to each other. It also features the same rose gold hardware as the black Demi bra. The Brazilian cut underwear sold out, so I got a solid green g-string thong that gives minimal coverage but has a shiny look to it that pairs well with the half cup bra. On the back, is a rose gold medallion that I think was a nice touch that breaks the monotony of the solid green.
FIT

With Savage x Fenty bras, the fit is what I pay attention to the most. Every purchase I’ve made has differed in fit, even though I always order the same size, but I think that comes down to the material and cut of the bra as well. With the black Demi bra, the fit was snug but not uncomfortable. With the unlined styles, I usually like the fit better because the lace will be stretchy and fit better to my body while still offering support.
But with the Half Cup bra, it didn’t feel very stretchy when I first tried it on, and hugged me tighter than any of the 34B bras I’d bought before. The cups fit really well, but I think trying on this bra solidified my love hate relationship with the fit of Savage x Fenty bras. I decided not to return and get a bigger size because the more I wore it, the more I noticed that it molded to my body and loosened, but the material still wasn’t very stretchy. The straps were very thing and surprisingly didn’t seem to have any elastic in them, so I didn’t feel like I had a lot of flexibility in them. I do have narrow shoulders, and while the fit was akin to a balconette, the non-stretchiness of the straps meant they stayed on my shoulders really well.
FINAL THOUGHTS

The black Savage Not Sorry set has become my go-to for fancy, sexy lingerie that’s comfortable and supportive enough to wear on the go. The tear-drop lace pattern is still one my favorites in my drawer and I love the unlined style and cut of the Brazilian underwear. Putting on this set makes me feel sophisticated, yet delicate and luxurious like my curves are being hugged by the prettiest lace.
With the Savage Not Sorry Underworld Green set, I’m reserving it for those special occasions and moments where I want to feel extra sensual and expensive. The silky green is still one of those surprise drops that immediately captured my attention and the in-person experience is just as powerful. It’s not the most comfortable set, and really I could see this being more of a set that’s meant to be taken off rather than worn all day. I wish I could’ve scored more decorative bottoms, but the color against my skin is such good match that I know I will get good use out of this set for when I need the boost of confidence.
